Continued...

I stated that my narrative of the past weekend would be continued and so it will. We arrived at the hotel and put our stuff in our rooms. Then we scrimmaged for a few hours. After that we went out to eat. We returned to the hotel and scrimmaged again this time switching sides. After the scrimmage we all broke out in dance. I think Ethan, Jeffery, and Mr. A were the stars. We had an excellent time swinging and mamboing. Of course this was in preparation for the following night when we were to exhibit our fantastic dancing skills in public. Then we retired to our respective rooms.
[Side Note: Nate, I don't know if you will see this or not, but don't you ever invite us to play poker again! If you had been there when Mary told us what you meant by playing poker I would seriously have slapped you.]
All right, so the next morning we scrimmaged again. We were all rather spent from the late night before so about lunchtime we all took a siesta. Well, I can only speak for the extra girls room and I must admit we did not sleep a whole lot during that time, but we did have a lot of fun! Then off to the courthouse we went. The first team we went up against we pretty much smoked them. However, the jury, who was somewhat lacking in experience, said in short that we were too good and that because we used no notes it looked sneaky. That's a bunch of hogwash! At least the part about being sneaky, I guess we were "too good". Well, after an excruciating jury we get go the next trial. This time the a’ for mentioned judge was pitiful! He tried to cross-examine Nate for crying out loud! (We whipped that team too, in spite of the judge.) I must say I don't think I have been that mad in a long time. Anyway, that night we went to the dance. The music they played was most distasteful, but we did have fun in spite of it. I don’t think "fun" is a big enough word to describe the experience, (but just wait, it is not even to the good part yet). So after the dance we all went to bed and at least personally, I didn't have very much trouble falling a sleep.
The next morning bright and early we all packed up our things and headed out for the courthouse. The third trial went well. The other team didn't really stand a chance. Then after lunch we had our forth trial. This time it was against Harpeth Hall, which is an all girl's school which was a pretty good team. Unfortunately for them we were a better team. I was a little concerned with their team because they started out kind of strong but when their witnesses got up there it went way down hill for them. Let see, some favorite quotes... "I'm a bit befuddled..." "Oh, um, you count very well..." "Oops you missed one didn't you? Oh no wait, you didn't miss that one, did you Mr. Harris?" "Q. So you would agree that $700 is not unreasonable would you? A. well, actually it would be more like $1000, insurance prices are really expensive these days. R. Oh okay, $1000." "Your honor we would now like to enter this as exhibit #4, with the additional makings." I guess those are the one's that clinched it for us. It was a great trial. We, in fact, WON THE PLAINTIFF VERDICT! It was AWESOME!!! (Now we are getting to the good part.) After the trial we go back to the hotel for the award ceremony. M******* received 7th place and we stood up and clapped for them and the person who received the MVP award for their team; Mr. a said that was pretty classy. Then Ethan received the MVP award for the Red team. And we were awarded 3rd place in the state. That's nothing to sneeze at but we knew that it wasn't because we weren't good enough to be in finals, it was because we were too good! After the ceremony we all went to Cracker Barrel. It was a rather bitter/sweet occasion but it was fun none the less.
Then we all piled in the van for the ride home. This was where it started to get really interesting. But the simple fact is "is what happens in the van, stays in the van", (except for a few random quotes in no particular order... "Is that your hand?!!"... "Did you just call my lap an adventure?!!!"... "What's going on back there?!!"... "I don't want to go back there, it might ruin my reputation. What reputation? Oh, well in that case..." "Shameless hussy"... "Why does my son look disheveled?" "M***, why are you holding D****'s pants?") Well, I guess that is all for now. I guess you would've just had to have been there. So we went our separate ways save for the people in the van, (whom I heard had a rather... ehm...interesting rest of the ride home).
The next morning we all attended Mr. A's church in honor of getting third. Then most of us went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. We laughed. A lot. and the food was good. After most everyone left we were out in the parking lot putting E******** in a strait jacket and taking incriminating pictures and besides that Matt's lunch got run over. Needless to say we had a fun time just being together.
I've just spent way too much time writing on here so I really must go. Hope you enjoyed, but don't worry if you don't understand, you would've just had to have been there.
