Flabbergasted

Life without God is hopeless. End of Story.

That sounds so cliché doesn't it? I mean really, when someone says that, in your head you respond yeah, yeah, sure it is. There are extremes of both, don't get me wrong. There are religious (I use religious in the loosest meaning of the word) freaks and then there are people who honestly could not careless. Even the name "Jesus Christ" is so overused, in some circles it is equated to something I can't even write.
WHY? Why, if the answer is so freaking clear, why do people continue to ignore the truth? The truth is today, to some people, anything and everything they want it to be. It doesn't matter. If God does not exist, nothing matters. PERIOD. Don't even try to argue otherwise, you will lose.
What?
Life? What is it? Whatever you want it to be, right? You can try your hardest, put forth your best effort, give it all you've got, but why?
You can use up your life smoking whatever, sleeping around, simply do nothing, but why?
You can live to make the world a better place, help someone in need, feed the hungry, fight someone, save someone's life, kill someone, but why does any of that matter?
What gives anything any definition, meaning, destination, reasoning, logic, value, right, wrong, or indifference?
So you are rich, so you are poor, so you are comfortable, so you are miserable, so you are starving, so you are fat, etc, etc, etc...
Do you catch my drift, get my point, and understand my argument?
DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL?

It is so obvious! My words cannot express how blatant it is. If that is so, why is so easily forgotten, disregarded, cast aside?

I have many questions, but they are all related. I will leave you with this one...What makes us forget why we do things?
