may i have your attention please?

when i was young, and in sunday school, my teacher would ask us all to give him our undivided attention. i wasn't sure what that meant, except that he wanted us to pay attention to him.
now, years later, i have a better idea of what he was asking for.
attention.
what is it?
where does it come from?

i believe attention is made of particles and these particles some how make up life. when the attention is free (unstuck) and your will is under control, attention is your currency, your power, your fuel. to move and go and do. to have attention means you have the ability to affect life.

the more attention you have the more power you possess.

the opposite also seems true. when attention is stuck, it feels imprisoned by something other than YOU. the attention particles seem to be held captive by some nameless, faceless, guard that holds the key to the locks on your attention. your attention is enslaved by this impassive, impersonal captor. the slave driver whips your attention around to look at an attractive butt, or a fancy car. it threatens your ego with horrible insults, tortures you with pathetic images and wastes your time hunting imaginary fantasies.

all the while, you die bit by bit.

give me your attention!

pay attention!

all the while, you're running out of attention.
it is being paid to some merciless mercenary that is tearing jagged craters  in your relationships, your wallet, your dreams, your very soul.

wait.
what if there were a way out?
what if there were a way to free your attention and loose the power being held captive by those masked bandits?
