The Bible is the only thing that can truely answer all of the basic questions. I've always been puzzled as to why, sense we all have the same words, we sometimes come up with different answers. You know, like the different docterines that separate churchs. If we all have the same book why don't we come up with the same conclusions? The things that sets Chistianity apart from other religions is (and corect me if i'm wrong): that we believe Jesus Christ who is the Son of God, who was conceived and born of a virgin, came to earth became all flesh, but was all God at the same time, lived a perfect life, did marvelous works while He was here, was brutally mutilated and died on the cross at Calvary, was in a sealed tomb for three days, rose from the grave on the third day, appeared to hundreds of people after that, and ascended to heaven promising to come again and that He would send a Comforter the Holy Spirit, so we would not be alone, and He did all this just because He loved us so much that He couldn't bear the thought of us not being able to spend the rest of eternity with Him. That, my friends, is one awesome God. And that is just the tinniest thumb nail. I could go on but you get the idea. This is the savior and friend that I serve. I am by no means perfect but I am being daily perfected in His love and blood. He died so that I don't have to live a sin-driven life. He gave me the choice though, because that is the kind of God He is. He did not make me a puppet on a string, He gave me freewill to either serve Him or myself. He knows the person can become if I choose to follow Him and He knows what kind of person I will be if I do not. Because his love is infinite, He can not love me any more that He already does right now, but He can not possibly love any less. He gave His Holy Word as life for our souls, whether we choose to accept it or not.

Very nice post.
What don't you agree with Barak? I really like theological discussions. It helps me to learn more about God. But like you it is not my desire to start strife. It would be helpful to hear your point of view, even though I might not agree with it.
Thank you Collin. What brought you to my site?
I find it interesting that most of the books of the Bible were written as chapters; to be read as whole chapters. But people read them verse by verse. The few books written (proverbs for one)to be read verse by verse, are read a chapter at a time. Barak, I disagree with your references pointing to predestination. They seemed to me to be taken out of context.
Romans 3
Please tell me how Mark 16 fits with predestination. Specifically what Jesus said at the end of the chapter.
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
Why would he tell them to preach to every creature if only the select were to be saved/called? It sounds like you have a clear choice, belief = salvation, unbelief = damnation.
