My, my, my, what an interesting day I've had.
I started some of my homeschool classes today. It is only my first day but I can tell I am going to be REALLY busy. Think of it this way, I will be a smarter, better, and more well-rounded person because of it. If I survive! That is the part I am questioning. I guess it won't kill me. But it might come close. It's not just those classes, it's those plus everything else I'm going to be doing. I just better hold on tight.
Home. It is such a nice word. It gives me such a wonderful comfort to know that I have one. It's not just any old home either. It's my home. My home to me is glorious place. Not because it's perfect but becuase it's imperfect. I am so glad God blessed me with such a lovely place to live. Of course God did not force me to live here, I made the decision on my own freewill to live here. God made it available and He gave it to me, but He did not force it down my throat. For which I am extremely thankful. Thank God today for your home and please pray hard for all those people who do not have one.
I had a crazy time getting to school today. We had a grand tour of downtown though. I wish we would've had a map, or at least a cell phone. It would have been a tremendous help. Sadly, no. We were on our own, wandering around and around. I am sure we did that on our own freewill. I quite sure God would've wanted us to be there on time. Especially since we were missing chapel. However, God had a plan and He worked it out for the best, whether we did what we should've done or not.
Why is freewill such a huge thing? Because, it changes our whole perception of God. Which God would you rather believe in? One that lovingly sent His only Son to suffer tremendous pain and finally die on a cross just so you would not have to spend the rest of enternity (that means forever) in hell, from there He gave us His word, so that we could chose for ourselves whether we would accept His salvation or not; or, a God who sent His Son for the sole purpose of glorifying Himself, He is forcing some people to go to heaven and some people to go to hell. He does not even give them a choice, at all. Which would you choose? Oh wait, I forgot, you can't choose, because you don't have any freewill to choose with. Isn't that right Barak? We don't have any choice. However you are feeling today God made you feel it. It doesn't matter what you did today because whatever you did God made you do it. I suppose He is forcing me write this right now, because I can't make any desicion on my own freewill.
By the way, this is not in response to your scriptures Barak. It is only a tangent that God forced me write.
Hope this doesn't sound mean. But if what he says is true, that's the way it is and there is nothing you or I can do about it.

Hey Sweet Girl! I understand so very much your frustration on this issue. I'm right there with you! I'm not sure how anyone can put it any more simple that what you did...would I really want to serve a Master who makes me love him?
Stay sweet and keep your eyes on The Son! Love ya.
Reviewing the details of your interactions with Barak about freewill vs sovereignty has compelled me to encourage you in a few things. First, I think that you and Barak have more in common than you both may think. Your perspectives cause you to define terms (such as "freewill") in different ways. NO ONE would deny that we have liberty to choose the things that we want to choose because we WANT to choose them. Likewise, no one (that I know of) would deny that God can do whatever He wants to do! Of course He cannot sin or anyhting like that, but He is free to make FREE choices. So . . . I think it is wise to DEFINE YOUR TERMS when talking to someone of differing perspective. Secondly, also being a follower of Jesus Christ, I don't think it to be a very wise decision to have PUBLIC dialogue of this sort. If an unbeliever (who desires to choose Christ) visits your website and finds you debating with another brother, they may be discouraged from listening to a person who differs from those who supposedly believe the same thing! In the New Testament, disciples are recognized for their love for one another. Now don't misunderstand . . . these discussions are healthy (IF BOTH PARTIES ARE TEACHABLE) in a private setting. You and Barak could email each other or something like that. However, when we as believers are in a public setting, we should keep the main thing the main thing! Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to save those who choose to repent of thier sin and put their faith and trust in Him for eternal life. Neither you or Barak would disagree with that I hope!
Finally, thank you and Barak so much for having a hunger to know and love God! Though you disagree on how that process occurs behind the scenes is no concern of mine! I only care to praise God for the family that He has redeemed and it warms my heart to know that your generation cares about Him as well as the world He has made!
Grace and Peace!
Anonymous,
I agree. It does appear that we do not agree. However, if a person did become a Chistian they would find out VERY quickly that there are MANY disagreements among the Christian community. So, unfortunately, if that person was turned off because of this type of discussion then they would probably fall away quickly anyway (Matt. 13:5-6). Of course if it is like Barak understands it, then it really wouldn't matter what the person read. If he was called then he would persevere, but if he did not persevere then he was not called to start with. Thank you for your concern.
