Thus begins the tale of how the Homeschool Red team won 1st Place at the American Invitational National Mock Trial Competition.
Late Monday afternoon my brother arrived at the K's home. Earlier that day he and I went shopping for some final necessities. After we arrived we chatted a bit and then retired for the night. About 3:45am we arose from our slumber to initiate our journey to Nashvagas. I must say that hour is not considered morning. It was really the middle of the night. Our drive to the airport was uneventful.
Not long after we got there everyone else arrived. We got our bags checked and Mrs. K got frisked for having not one but TWO knives on her. It was rather droll. We were at the airport for several minutes before the plane took off. No problem getting on the plane. Take off was excellent fun. The ride was gave a whole new meaning to "having a different perspective". Up to that point I had never been on a plane before. That was one of my firsts on this trip. The flight went like clockwork, as far I know. The view was amazing. We flew into Philadelphia about 2 or so hours after take off. I need to mention that I packed in a very lard duffle bag that was a pain to carry around. The boys really appreciated that I sure.
We then went to get a few rental vans. While we were waiting for them to work the details out inside, my brother was outside attempting to cause mischief. He had brought his rebel-flag pillow with him along with his "Redneck" belt buckle also accompanying the afore mentioned flag. The people with us were trying to explain to him how people up there don't look at those things the same way. They also mention he might get shot. After these assertions were communicated the pillow and buckle were tucked away, only to be produced upon entrance of the hotel...
